William Grayson Jr

Jul 9, 2025

Where Art, Fashion, and Activism Collide

London: Serpentine Pavilion 2025 Opening Gala

When: July 12, 8 PM | Where: Kensington Gardens

The Vibe: Architect Diébédo Francis Kéré’s bamboo-and-recycled-steel pavilion transforms into a glowing lantern for its opening night. Expect avant-garde performances by Juliana Huxtable and cocktails infused with foraged elderflower. Dress Code: "Eco-Glam" (think upcycled sequins or barefoot-in-silk).

Why Attend: Rub shoulders with Tate Modern curators and climate activists—this year’s pavilion doubles as a manifesto for sustainable design.

Brooklyn: Chanel Opens Atelier des Métiers in Dumbo

When: July 15–August 3 | Where: 55 Water Street

The Vibe: A pop-up celebrating savoir-faire with live embroidery demos by Lesage artisans and a VR tour of Coco’s original Paris workshop. Book a slot to stitch your initials onto a custom camellia brooch.

Star Sighting: Tilda Swinton debuts her collaborative jewelry line with Goossens on July 18.

Milan: "Woven Futures" Sustainable Textile Summit

When: July 20–22 | Where: Triennale Milano

The Vibe: Stella McCartney, Marine Serre, and Nigerian designer Kenneth Ize lead workshops on mushroom leather and zero-waste pattern cutting. Hot Ticket: The closing party features a dress code of "trash-to-treasure" (winner gets a €5K Ecco grant).

The Hamptons: Modish Muse x Soho House Ocean Rescue Benefit

When: July 26, 4 PM | Where: Ocean Blue Estate, Montauk

The Vibe: Sunset oysters, a silent auction (bid on a private concert by Florence Welch), and swimwear by Reformation. All proceeds fund coral reef restoration. Insider Tip: Arrive by electric yacht shuttle from East Hampton.

5. Paris: Queer Cinema Under the Stars at Père Lachaise

When: Every Thursday in July | Where: Cemetery’s Secret Garden

The Vibe: Open-air screenings of restored New Wave classics and LGBTQ+ shorts. This week: Portrait of a Lady on Fire with live violin score. Picnics from Septime’s bakery encouraged.

Don’t Miss: Pre-film Q&A with director Céline Sciamma on July 17.

The Buzz: What Our Community Is Loving

Book Club Pick: "A Year on Earth with Mr. Hell" (discussion July 30 @ MM HQ)

Viral Buy: "Siren Glass" seaweed-based perfume by Hiram Green

Cause of the Month: #SaveOurSeagrass—donate to get a limited-edition tote by Gabriela Hearst

Final Note: July is for living. Whether you’re meditating in Kéré’s bamboo haven or stitching rebellion at Chanel’s atelier, remember: community is the ultimate luxury.
