Rediscover Real Romance: Navigating Love in Today's World.

What the heck does that even mean in 2025??....

Welcome back to Dakota Vibe Chronicles. We’ve gotten through the holiday season, and now we are getting in gear for Valentine’s Day. Let’s discuss the essence of authentic dating including the good, bad and the ugly looming in the shadows of life! Single ladies let’s all prepare ourselves for the inevitable parade of flower deliveries to every single corporate office environment on Friday, February 14th. Here is a very cool tip, I learned years ago from an extremely wise older woman. You are equally as special as any other married woman, or someone in your workspace who may have a very thoughtful significant other!! Pre order your own lovey Valentines Day arrangement, and have the florist sign the card, “from someone special.” This will eliminate any feelings of being left out in the presence of your co-workers.

Ageism in authentic dating may look differently for a sixty-year-old than for a thirty- or forty-year-old. Society has its own way of imposing archaic antiquated ideas of how a single woman should date. I’m screaming rubbish, everyone is in a different phase of life. Dating should be exactly what makes your heart smile, and nothing less.

SADE and I are the same age, a beautiful vibrant sixty-six. As for myself, I enjoy and flourish when dating a younger demographic of professional men. My energy level is high vibrating, inquisitive and creative. I’ve learned from experience that I can be my most authentic self when dating in the age range of forty to sixty. I hope this article encourages all genders to look within, evaluate your dating experience and ask yourself a few questions. Do you know yourself? Have you recognized when your energy elevates or depletes out on any date? Once you’ve answered those questions you can begin to date authentically. ~ Dakota Somerville
